COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County’s council approved a tax abatement for proposed improvements Tuesday.
PDQ Workholding, LLC was granted a 10-year deduction for the personal property improvements. The resolution passed 7-0.
County Councilman Bill Overdeer said he was happy with what PDQ has done so far.
“The redevelopment commission unanimously approved the 10-year abatement and I would move the council approve this,” he said. “(PDQ has) been pretty successful in the past three years. I am proud of them and all they have been able to do and are glad to have them here.”
PDQ opened for business in 2010 in Gateway Industrial Park. After just 3 years, the company is proposing an investment of $2 million more in equipment and employees. Five jobs are expected to be added to go with the 35 already there. “The first few years are usually the roughest,” said Councilman Glen LaRue. “This is a nice success story.”
