Gerald “Jay” R. Imbody, 49, of Payne, Ohio passed away at 2:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at the home of his mother. Born May 7, 1961 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of Gerald and Gloria (Juillerat) Imbody.
He was born and raised in Indiana, and recently moved to Payne, Ohio after his marriage. He married Kathy Canfield Feb. 13, 2010. He was an auto body and paint technician, former owner/operator of Cycle City in Fort Wayne and most recently worked for Kinipscher Auto Body. In addition, he was a long-time employee of Comcast in Columbia City. He also attended Brown Mackie College where he was studying to be a surgical technician. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, New Haven and an avid motorcycle rider.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Imbody of Payne; mother, Gloria Archbold of Spencerville; son, Steven (Heidi) Imbody of Columbia City; daughter, Jessica Lamb of Fort Wayne; brother, Mark Imbody of Grabill; Steven’s mother, Cynthia Imbody of Columbia City; sister, Gina High of Spencerville; stepchildren, Rich, Tiffany, Ryan and Brad; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Imbody and grandparents, Ernest and Mary Julliret.
A service of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Burial will follow at South Park (Annex) Cemetery, Columbia City.
