ART FEST: New direction, same flavor

COLUMBIA CITY — For 11 years, the Whitley County Autumn Art Festival has displayed art, crafts and local talent on the Courthouse lawn.Now in its 12th year, the festival has new leadership, Mark Espich and Katie Sweeney.The event will now benefit the Whitley County Humane Society and will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.“We are excited about the 12th annual festival,” Espich said. “Due to generous business and community support, our family-oriented art festival has been successfully growing throughout the years, offering art and cultural exposure for out community to appreciate.”The festival will feature a children’s art tent, chalk drawing opportunities and other hands-on attractions. Visitors to the festival can take in art work from students in Whitley County schools as well as pieces crafted by Passages, Inc. clients.A student art show will be featured in the Clugston Building on Chauncey Street.
