BMV CRASH: Driver to make plea

COLUMBIA CITY— A man accused of crashing a stolen vehicle through the Columbia City BMV is set to plead guilty to charges in November.Danny Rose, 20, of Columbia City, was arrested July 23 for auto theft, resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief and reckless driving.According to documents, Rose will plead guilty Nov. 12 at a hearing to unspecified charges.According to case reports, officers were called to a scene in response to battery July 21. At that time, Rose was alleged to have committed battery and criminal mischief against his girlfriend.Police began searching for Rose, and were not able to locate him until 11:15 p.m. July 22, when officers responded to a stolen vehicle complaint. Officers were told Rose had stolen his ex-girlfriend’s car and had left the county, possibly with a hand gun in his possession. Later, Columbia City Police received a report Rose was spotted, in the vehicle, in the area of CR 400 North. Four police cruisers arrived and darkened their lights.
