Kenneth Trout, 81

Kenneth James Trout, 81, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at his home. He was born May 18, 1932, in Scottsbluff, Neb., a son of the late Clifford J. and Evelyn E. (Howell) Trout. His formative years were spent in west Nebraska. The family then moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he graduated from high school. He received a Bachelor’s of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Masters in Business Administration from Indiana University. He served in the U.S. Air Force until 1956.On Jan. 20, 1962, he was united in marriage to Nancy Jane Myers. They made their home in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Trout died March 26, 2006. In 1959, he joined Magnavox, which later became North American Phillips, as a manufacturing engineer. He retired in 1993 with 34 years of service.He was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church.Surviving relatives include a daughter, Carol Jane Trout of Fort Wayne and a son, James W. (Eva) Trout of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Courtney, Natalie and Cameron Trout; four brothers, Clifford “Jack” (Patty) Trout of Payson, Ariz., Edward “Jerry” (Martha Mae) Trout of Phoenix, Ariz., Virgil D. (Phyllis) Trout of Sedona, Ariz. and Robert G. Trout, Glendale, Ariz.The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The burial will take place at a later date in Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City.Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be sent
