NEW SCHOLARSHIP: Signature Giving establishes April 21 scholarship deadline

COLUMBIA CITY – Signature Giving is taking applications for the Signature Giving Vocational Scholarship. Whitley County high school seniors who are seeking a vocational degree or certificate are encouraged to apply. Applications are available at Columbia City High School, Whitko High School, and Churubusco High School and are due by April 21, 2012.Some of the criteria the selection committee is requesting are: 2.5 GPA or higher, career goals, where you see yourself in five years, and how your future profession/ career will benefit the community of Whitley County. The selection committee is comprised of the following local individuals: Tina Houser, Chad Moore, Bryan Graham, Anees Qureshi, Jenny Reffitt, Elizabeth Ceruti and Sara Goff. On Dec. 31, 2011, Signature Giving hosted “New Year’s Eve @ the VanBuren.” The Vocational Scholarship proceeds were raised from donors who contributed to that event. Top contributors include: Big G’s Sports Café, Steel Dynamics Inc., LT Foundations and the Wireless Zone. Again applications are due by April 21, 2012.The mission of Signature Giving is to provide community support through planning and executing innovative, fun activities that will encourage the residents of Whitley County to get involved with raising funds for any business, organization, non-for-profit or person who might need additional support with fund-raising ideas, events or scholarships. Signature Giving will also serve as an umbrella organization and consulting platform to help area businesses with their own fund raising events.
