SURVEY SAYS: Surveys to yield storm water utility knowledge

COLUMBIA CITY — Citizens of Columbia City have the opportunity during the next few weeks to test their knowledge.Residents will have their learning assessed in the subject of storm water. The storm water utility has sent out its 2013 water quality survey. This is in compliance with the city’s Storm Water Management Plan.Under the plan, public engagement is a required component. The last survey was sent out in 2008.“This is part of our permit cycle, which is also on a five-year plan,” said Columbia City Community Development Director Jeff Walker, who oversees the city’s storm water utility. A primary goal of this survey is to find an increase in learning among citizens.“We want a 10 percent increase in knowledge about storm water issues,” said Walker. To read the rest of this story, see the June 17 issue of The Post and Mail.
