THROWBACK THURSDAY: Collegiate daredevil

Staff Writer

Lewis Palmer graduated from Etna's three-year high school, then the fourth year at Columbia City High School and worked his way through DePauw University. He was a summer guide at the Statue of Liberty while the statue was under reconstruction. Palmer, a gymnast, was able to crawl out through a window onto the head of Miss Liberty and did a head stand. Unfortunately, a friend that was supposed to take a picture of the stunt missed the shot and got a picture of Ellis Island instead.
