Mark Green
COLUMBIA CITY — Charges have now been filed through the Whitley County Courts against former Columbia City Parks Department Director Mark Green.
Green, 51, of Columbia City, faces four charges of corrupt business influence, four charges of theft and one charge of official misconduct.
Green was booked into the Whitley County Jail the evening of April 19, and was released soon after.
Green had served with the Columbia City Parks Department for 20 years.
It was reported in March via a statement by Columbia City Mayor Ryan Daniel that the city had become aware of "suspicious financial activity" within the parks department.
It added, contact was made with the Whitley County Prosecutor's Office and an investigation by the Indiana State Police and Indiana Board of Accounts was conducted. Green was then removed from his position.
Green is expected to be in court for an initial hearing Monday morning, April 24.
