Legion continues 75th anniversary celebration with cookout

The spring weather was dramatically different in Columbia City on April 12 this year compared to 75 years ago when city native Indiana Governor Ralph Gates broke ground for what would become American Legion Post 98, "The Legion Home on the Hill," overlooking DeVol Field on the city's west side. Post 98 observed the anniversary of the April 12,1948 groundbreaking with a cookout in appropriate 75 degree weather with Commander Stu Eve, right, and Sean Barb manning the grill. The year-long 75th Anniversary Celebration & Capital Campaign is continuing at Post 98.
