INDIANAPOLIS – Columbia City junior girls swimmer Emma Johnson found herself at a familiar place Friday night: The UU Natatorium, as Johnson was back at the IHSAA girls swim and dive meet for the second straight year.
Johnson qualified once again in 2023 for the 100-yard breaststroke. She finished 30th in the event this year (1:10.41).
That was an improvement over her first trip to state as a sophomore last season: Johnson was 32nd a year ago.
Johnson said she was happy to make it back to state this year again after winning the sectional title at the Warsaw Sectional.
“I’m going to keep working hard and try to get back here again as a senior,” Johnson said.
